J.H. Cohn appoints partners in Audit, AAG groups

J.H. Cohn LLP, the largest independent audit, tax, and consulting firm headquartered in the Northeast, has announced that Steven C. Schinella and Evan S. Zuckerman have joined the Firm as direct-partners in the firm’s Audit and Accounting & Advisory practices, respectively.

Schinella joins the Firm from Ernst & Young LLP, where he was an audit senior manager specializing in industrial product manufacturing and SEC reporting. Also while at Ernst & Young, he prepared and reviewed financial statements, 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, pro forma financials, and audit committee reports, and provided management and audit committees with accounting updates, industry best practices, and recommendations for improving various operational and administrative aspects. He is a graduate of Rutgers University, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting. He is a member of the American Society of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA).

Zuckerman was previously a partner at Bederson & Company LLP, where he was responsible for attest, accounting, tax, and consulting functions for clients in the non-profit, healthcare, employee benefit plans, and manufacturing industries, as well as for family-owned businesses and individuals. Prior to joining Bederson, he was a senior manager at Goldstein Golub Kessler LLP. He is a graduate of Lafayette College, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics and business, and is a member of the American Society of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA).
