J.H. Cohn appoints Newfrock to lead client economy recovery team
Jim Newfrock has joined J.H. Cohn LLP, the largest independent accounting and consulting firm headquartered in the Northeast, as leader of the Firm’s newly established Client Economic Recovery Team (CERT). In his position, Newfrock will direct a multidisciplinary group of experts assembled to support, advise, and assist client corporations and financial institutions affected by the rapidly evolving financial environment and in response to the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 and the resulting Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP).
Prior to joining J.H. Cohn, Newfrock led the Global Strategic Risk management practice of Booz Allen Hamilton, where he specialized in the development and implementation of cost-effective solutions to help companies assess, reduce, and monitor their risk exposures and improve their compliance programs.

CERT draws on the expertise of specialists from J.H. Cohn’s Business Investigation Services, Corporate Governance Services, and Financial Services practices. Services include Crisis Management, Enterprise Risk Assessment, Governance and Regulatory Compliance, Strategy Development and Deployment, Forensic Accounting and Litigation Support, Financial Reporting and CFO Advisory Services, Bankruptcy/Restructuring and Financial Recovery, Internal Audit, Business Valuation and Merger/Acquisition Transaction support.

A resident of Mountain Lakes, N.J., Newfrock is a graduate of The University of Delaware, where he earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration and Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he earned his MBA. Newfrock will be based in the firm’s Roseland, N.J. office.

Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there.
