INSIDE Public Accounting releases 2009 Benchmarking Report

INSIDE Public Accounting has releases its 2009 IPA National Benchmarking Report, the annual collection of economic and management statistics about the accounting profession. 

Details and statistics gathered from the INSIDE Public Accounting Annual Survey and Analysis of Firms is presented in more than 50+ pages of detailed tables, broken out by firm size and geographic region - and new in 2009, corresponding graphs. Also included in the analyses are statistics for the IPA Best of the Best, intended to provide benchmarking data for the 25 best-managed CPA firms in the country.
 
"Given the challenging business climate today, knowing where you stand in comparison to your peers is more important than it has ever been," said Michael Platt, principal with the Platt Group, publisher of INSIDE Public Accounting.
 
"CPA firms derive significant benefit from benchmarking against other firms their size and from other firms in their geographic region," said Kelly Platt, principal of the Platt Group. "Best of the Best comparative data is also included which gives firms the opportunity to benchmark against the best managed firms in the country," she adds.
 
The 19th annual 2009 IPA National Benchmarking Report (based on fiscal year 2008-2009 data) contains information representing more than 18,200 CPA partners and 200,000 total staff. The CPA firms that participated in this year's survey represent an aggregate of $45.7 billion in net fees.
