Habif, Arogeti & Wynne adds director of valuation services
Michael Blake has joined Habif, Arogeti & Wynne, LLP (HA&W), Georgia's largest independent accounting firm, as its Director of Valuation Services.
Blake was recently a Managing Director at Adams Capital where he performed and managed valuation projects for FAS 141/142 and FAS 123r. In serving his clients, he has developed a real options model for intellectual property valuation. Prior to Adams Capital, Blake was a Vice President of Orama Partners (investment bank) in New York and has worked in venture capital in the United States, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, and Israel.
"Michael's deep and focused experience with complex valuation projects will allow HA&W to deliver a much higher level of service to its clients in today's complex financial environment," said Richard Millman, partner-in-charge of the firm's Forensic and Litigation Services Practice.
"I appreciate the opportunity HA&W is giving me to lead this growing area of its valuation practice. And, as a result of its strong international practice, I look forward to renewing my connection to international commerce," said Blake.
Blake is also active in the Atlanta business community. He is a founding member of StartupLounge, a task force leader within the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce, and is cofounder of the Ukranian-American Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the advisory board of the Georgia Tech/Emory TI:GER program and cofounder of the Franklin & Marshall College Atlanta Alumni Association. He was a nominee for the 2009 Turknett Leadership Character Award.
Blake received his bachelor's degree in Economics and French from Franklin & Marshall College and his MBA from Georgetown University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder and has completed all valuation coursework toward accreditation from the American Society of Appraisers (ASA).

Voice of the Editor
Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
