Florida accounting firms announce merger
Coral Gables, FL-based Lefcourt, Billig, Tiktin & Yesner specializes in complex estate, trust and gift-tax-planning strategies and complex corporate and partnership tax consulting. Its four name partners - Jeffrey Lefcourt, Robert Billig, Steven Tiktin and Jack Yesner - have joined Berenfeld, Spritzer, Shechter & Sheer LLP's Coral Gables office, according to a report in the South Florida Business Journal.
Berenfeld Spritzer Managing Partner Butch Gelnovatch said the merger developed as the natural extension of close business and personal relationships between principals of the two firms, and will enable Berenfeld Spritzer to expand its scope of specialized services.
"This merger brings four outstanding accounting and tax professionals into our firm and broadens our capabilities in a manner that will have real impact on our clients," Gelnovatch said in a news release. "We are very proud to welcome these distinguished colleagues into our organization."
Founded in 1971, Berenfeld Spritzer has offices in Coral Gables and Fort Lauderdale. It is made up of more than 200 professionals providing accounting, audit, tax, litigation support and consulting services.
Voice of the Editor
Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
