Deloitte Reportedly Selling Consultancy Business

Deloitte & Touche is reportedly waiting for clearance from the Securities and Exchange Commission to sell off its consultancy businesses.

The name of the prospective buyer is, at this point, a closely guarded secret.

Deloitte & Touche is the last of the Big Five firms to hold on to its consultancy. Last year KPMG Consulting broke away from KPMG, Ernst & Young's consultancy merged with France's Cap Gemini, and PricewaterhouseCoopers attempted to sell its consultancy arm to Hewlett-Packard. Andersen Consulting, now Accenture, separated from Andersen last year after a legal battle.
