Deloitte New York Offices Destroyed

The downtown New York offices of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in the World Financial Center were destroyed on Wednesday as flames spread from the adjacent World Trade Center site.

The World Financial Center is made up of four buildings that were connected to the nearby World Trade Center by two bridges. A spokeswoman for Deloitte said its offices were evacuated after Tuesday's attacks on the World Trade Center's twin towers. The offices were consumed when flames spread to them on Wednesday. The firm is so far unaware of any casualties.

The north eastern regional office of the Securities and Exchange Commission was based at 7 World Trade Center. Although not housed in the main towers, the entire complex was destroyed in Tuesday's attack. The SEC was "reasonably confident" all its people based in the World Trade Center office were safe.

Three CPA firms were listed among the tenants of 1 World Trade Center: Charles Chan, Marvin A. Katz, and Welder & Mayer.
