CPA Firm Roth Murphy Sanford Merges with Carr, Riggs & Ingram

New Orleans CPA firm Roth Murphy Sanford L.L.P. (RMS) has merged with Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC (CRI), the fourth largest accounting firm in the Southeast – a move that expands CRI’s footprint to six states while enhancing public accounting and management consulting services throughout Southeast Louisiana.

RMS will now operate under the name of Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC. CRI’s employee roster of more than 550 professionals, including over 100 partners, manages accounts of more than 25,000 clients in 13 practice units across the Southeast.

“Entering the dynamic New Orleans market through this merger follows our firm’s strategic growth strategy and offers our clients additional value in a number of new specialty areas,” said William H. Carr, chairman and managing partner of CRI. “Over the past two decades, RMS has built a strong reputation throughout New Orleans for delivering exceptional client service and expertise, and we’re certain this partnership will add new depth to this powerful heritage.”

The quickly growing Alabama-based firm is ranked as the fourth largest accounting firm in the Southeast and 34th largest nationally by Accounting Today. CRI also offers clients convenient access to nationally-recognized accounting and advisory services through offices in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Tennessee with plans for future expansion.

CRI serves more than 15 diverse industries, ranging from manufacturing to health care to financial services. Its four Scholars-in-Residence at Emory University and University of Alabama at Birmingham also offer innovative strategies in auditing, tax, and consulting services.

Roth Murphy Sanford was formed in 1989 and actively services clients throughout greater New Orleans.  Its specialty areas include oil and gas taxation, high net worth tax planning, and work on behalf of construction and manufacturing companies, closely-held family businesses with multi-state operations, professional service firms, financial institutions, and not-for-profit organizations. Additionally, Roth Murphy Sanford is committed to the community, as evidenced by their active participation in organizations such as VIA Link, New Schools for New Orleans, Good Shepherd School, Boy Scouts of America, and Samuel L. Greene Charter School.

"For more than 20 years, we have provided exceptional audit, accounting, tax and consulting services, and we’re confident this seamless merger will offer our clients even greater support and expanded resources backed by one of our region’s largest accounting firms,” stated Mahlon Sanford, managing partner of RMS. “We are now uniquely positioned to offer the Greater New Orleans business community the most comprehensive set of accounting and consulting services available in the marketplace.”
