Following is the latest roundup of firm news for the week of November 8, 2010.

Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball, Chartered (ABBB) recently announced the addition of Jude A. Fox, Charly R. Green, and Adam R. Hann to its professional staff. Each professional serves as a staff accountant in the firm's Hays, Kansas, office location.

Joseph S. Barbagallo and David A. Anderson have joined Citrin Cooperman as partner and director, respectively, in the firm's Valuation and Forensic Services department.

Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP, a CPAmerica/Crowe Horwath International affiliate, recently announced that Liz Broadway has joined the board of directors of Rebuilding Together of the Triangle. Broadway will serve on the area nonprofit's fundraising committee and assist in the development and implementation of a financial plan for growth. The firm also announced that Tim Gupton, J. Mark Livingston, and Kent Pittman, served as delegates to the Leading Partners Retreat of CPAmerica International. Also, Partner Tim Naylor spoke at the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce's joint board of directors/board of advisors meeting last month.

Leone, McDonnell & Roberts, Professional Association recently announced that Debra L. Angelico has been named to the Board of Directors for Evergreen Institute for Wellness. Angelico also has been appointed to the role of Treasurer for the organization.

Richey, May & Co. LLP announced that Dustin K. Pfluger, CPA, has been appointed Treasurer of nonprofit organization The Bike Depot. The firm also announced the addition of John L. Gregg, CPA, to its professional staff as a senior audit manager. Also, the firm has been named to INSIDE Public Accounting's Best of the Best Honorable Mention Firms list for 2010.

Ron Schain, managing partner of the Fort Lauderdale, Florida office of Schain and Company, CPA's recently attended Thomson Reuters 30th Annual User's Conference in Washington, D.C., which was held at the Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center last month. Also attending from Schain and Co. were Marc Schain, managing partner of the New Paltz, N.Y. office, and Sharon Cumming, senior accountant and Intuit Certified ProAdvisor of the Fort Lauderdale office.

The Associated Builders & Contractors of Indiana (ABC) has awarded Somerset CPAs the 2010 Douglas Trolson Associates Image Award for exemplifying the business values set forth by Doug Trolson, past ABC Indiana Chapter attorney. Ken Hedlund, principal in charge of Somerset's Construction & A/E Team, accepted the award.

Vrakas/Blum, S.C. recently announced that Briana K. Birenbaum and Brian D. Roth have earned their certified public accountant licenses in the state of Wisconsin. The firm also announced the addition of Spencer G. Gilman, Sarah M. Johnson, Brian M. Kaker, Kevin T. Meffle, Julie M. Ripple, and Marcus Smrecek to its professional staff.

WTP Advisors recently announced that it has acquired Utah-based Interest and Penalty Advisors LLC (IPA), a tax consulting firm that helps taxpayers save money by developing strategies that optimize interest and penalty positions for adjustments that have been made to their as filed tax liabilities. Under the terms of the acquisition, IPA now will become WTP Interest and Penalty Advisors. The firm also announced that Yair Holtzman, director at WTP Advisors, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Excellence in Management Consulting.
