Chicago firm receives highest rating in peer review

Porte Brown LLC, a Chicago area accounting firm, announced it has received the highest rating possible following an independent peer review of its financial statement audit and review services. The peer review, conducted in accordance with standards established by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), resulted in an "Unmodified Report, Without a Letter of Comment," the best possible rating. The evaluation certifies that Porte Brown's policies and procedures conform to AICPA professional standards for quality accounting and audit services.

The peer review process ensures accounting and financial statement audit and review services are provided in the highest professional manner. The peer review included analysis of selected Porte Brown client audit and review engagements, representing a cross-section of the Chicago area CPA firm's accounting and auditing practice. An Illinois CPA Society member firm administered the audit in accordance with AICPA guidelines.

"Quality control is at the heart of the peer review process," says Russell Wilson, Porte Brown auditing partner. "An 'Unmodified Report' is a rating we're very proud of. It's an acknowledgement of the people who make up this organization and an endorsement of their professionalism. It confirms they understand both the practices for delivering quality services and the methods to apply them rigorously."

"This independent peer review is yet another assurance we can provide Porte Brown clients," says Bruce Jones, Porte Brown managing partner. "It's essential that our clients remain confident and comfortable knowing their accounting, audit, and financial statement review engagements are performed diligently and accurately. It also lets prospective clients know our people and our methods meet the most stringent professional requirements in the industry."
