Brown Smith Wallace CPA honored as “Woman to Watch” by MSCPA

Robin Bell, a member at St. Louis-based Brown Smith Wallace LLC, has been recognized by the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) as a Woman to Watch in the Experienced Leader category. She was honored at the MSCPA's Women's Retreat Aug. 25 in St. Louis.

"We are proud of Robin and her accomplishments," said Jeffrey Smith, managing member at Brown Smith Wallace. "She is deserving of this honor as a leader both in our firm and in the St. Louis community."

Bell co-leads the Tax and Accounting Services Group at Brown Smith Wallace LLC. She has more than 20 years of accounting, auditing and tax experience and is a key member of the firm's management team. She works with a wide variety of privately-owned businesses, primarily in real estate and construction.

A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, Bell also serves as a member of the University of Tennessee Alumnae Association. She is also involved with St. Louis Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts, assisting emerging artists with accounting issues and tax compliance. Bell is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Accounting.

The CPA Women-to-Watch program recognizes women who have made significant contributions as leaders in the accounting industry and have advanced to the highest levels of management within the profession. Criteria include the mentoring of other professionals, public or community service, leadership in workplace initiatives and improvements, involvement with their alma mater and overall contributions to the profession.

The program, sponsored by the MSCPA in partnership with the American Institute of CPAs Women's Initiatives Executive Committee and Robert Half International, donates $2,500 to the MSCPA LEAP Scholarship Fund in the winners' names.
