Boston area firm donates day of business to nonprofits

Westborough, MA-based CCR LLP recently closed its doors for a day to volunteer in communities around New England in its Fourth Annual Community Day of Caring.

"I believe that volunteering is an important professional responsibility," said David A. Platt, Managing Partner, CCR LLP. "It offers a fresh perspective of what is really important and helps redefine the meaning of success."

Since 2008, the CCR Charitable Foundation has closed the firm for one day each year. The June 10 event this year took place at The Greater Boston Food Bank in Boston, Community Harvest Project in North Grafton, Mass., Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Conn., and the Women's Resource Center in Providence, R.I.

At the various locations, employees assembled bags of food, weeded fields of vegetables supplied to local food banks, spruced up the landscaping at the aquarium, or painted and made repairs to a center providing assistance to domestic violence victims.

In addition to Westborough, CCR has offices in Boston, Providence, Glastonbury, CT, and Orlando, FL.
