Big 5 Sweep KMWorld's Best 100 List
KMWorld is the self-described leading information provider serving the Knowledge Management systems market, and they have just published their list of 100 top companies in the Knowledge Management arena. All five members of the Big 5 grace the list.
The 100 Companies that Matter, according to KMWorld, are those that best exhibit the qualities of market makers, solutions technology makers, solutions service makers, and infrastructure technology makers. What does all this mean? These are the companies best situated to point the way to managing the thinking assets of a company.
Knowledge Management is a business philosophy that attempts to recognize the value of people as an asset to an organization and to find ways to take advantage of the brain tools that people bring to the organization. The recognition provided by KMWorld’s top 100 list is indicative of companies that best manage the thinking assets of their organizations and that provide guidance in this area to others.
Voice of the Editor
Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
