Beard Miller Company names Richard A. Purcell tax department managing partner

Beard Miller Company LLP (BMC), a leading Mid Atlantic certified public accounting firm, is pleased to announce that effective immediately Richard A. Purcell has been named the firm's Tax Department Managing Partner. Purcell also serves as the firm's Reading Office Managing Partner.

As Tax Department Managing Partner, Purcell will be responsible for management of the department in the firm's fourteen offices across four states. He will bring more than 27 years experience to leading and directing tax department staff.

Purcell has worked with many types of businesses in all stages of growth and has assisted them with business accounting and tax issues. In addition to for-profit businesses, he also has extensive experience in working with healthcare clients and nonprofit organizations.

Purcell earned a BS degree from Albright College. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Purcell is a graduate of the Leadership Berks and is Co-Vice Chair of the Alvernia College Board of Trustees. He is a member of the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce and the Medical Group Management Association. He has been with the firm since 1990.
