Upcoming IMA Conference Attracts Leading Executives

Are you among the more than 1,000 foremost authorities in management accounting and financial management heading to Boston next week? The 86th Annual Conference and Exposition for the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), Building Value from the Inside: Navigating our Role, is scheduled for June 18-22, 2005.

The 70-session training forum will focus on the skills and solutions necessary to ensure professional accountants provide responsible decision support, planning and control from within organizations.

Among the highlights planned for the conference are:

  • Monday’s keynote speaker, David Walker, head of the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and the nation’s seventh Comptroller General.
  • Identifying the principles and practices used by leading organizations for implementing strategies and achieving performance breakthroughs with Robert Kaplan, Marvin Bower Professor of Leadership Development at Harvard Bsuiness School and founder of the Balanced Scorecard
  • Tuesday’s discussion of enhanced business reporting with Robert Eccles, Ph.D., co-author of “Building Public Trust: the Future of Corporate Reporting”, and founder and president of Advisory Capital Partners, Inc., Chairman of Board Governance Services, Inc. (BGS) and Senior Fellow of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
