SOX Institute Takes Sarbanes-Oxley Training Program on the Road

“Last month, the Institute of Management Accountants reported that top management accountants and finance professionals pulled ahead of public accountants in both average salary and total compensation in 2004 as a direct result of Sarbanes-Oxley,” says Board Chairman Fw. CFE, CSOX, CSOXP. “This is an opportunity for us to reach those who want and need the education right where they are, and at a price they can afford.”

The SOX Institute is taking its SOX training program on the road. During the Fall of 2005, the weekend road shows will visit:

  • Houton (August 20-21)
  • New York (August 27-28)
  • New Jersey (September 10-11)
  • Philadelphia (September 17-18)
  • Washington, D.C. (September 24-25)
  • San Francisco (October 1-2)
  • Los Angeles (October 8-9)
  • Boston (October 15-16)
  • Chicago (October 22-23)
  • Dallas (October 29-30)
  • Miami (November 5-6)
  • Detroit (November 12-13)
  • Atlanta (November 19-20)
  • Toronto (November 26-27)

To make the weekend training sessions more affordable, the SOX Institute is offering a variety of packages, some including complimentary SOX Group memberships, self-study programs, professional certifications, all-day seminars, and CPE, PDU, CEU and PEU continuing education credits. Also as part of the road show initiative, the Sox Institute will be establishing local networking groups and chapters in the various communities they are visiting and are looking for professionals to take on leadership roles in those regions.

Anyone working in or seeking to enter careers in the various disciplines associated with Sarbanes-Oxley including Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Technology, Ethics and Law is encouraged to attend. The program is experiential and uses case studies from Harvard Business School as teaching aids. Participants may earn as many as 36 hours of continuing education credits. More information, pricing and registration are available at www.soxinstitute.org.

“My resume has generated more interest and interviews in the month since I added the SOX training and certification section than it had in the previous 5-6 months which is when I seriously started looking for another job,” an IT Project Manager from one of the Big Four Firms and graduate of a previous SOX Institute training workshop states.
