A Puzzle for Accounting Professionals

Looking for something to fill those last few minutes before quitting time? PAYMENTS! is just the thing – and, because it’s related to accounts payable and how businesses pay their bills, it’s completely guilt-free!

PAYMENTS!, developed by Accounts Payable Now & Tomorrow, a newsletter from CRYSTALLUS, Inc., is a Wordoku, the alpha version of the popular numeric puzzle game Sudoku. Both sudoku and wordoku puzzles are fun activities that allow you to block out troubles and problems for a few minutes while concentrating on an intriguing brainteaser.

“The hardest part was finding a nine letter word without repeating letters, one that was related to our mission of helping companies with their payment processes,” explains Mary Schaeffer, editorial director of Accounts Payable Now & Tomorrow. “Eventually, we settled on PAYMENTS. Yes, we know it only has eight letters, so we added an ‘!’ at the end to make it nine.”

Ready to give it a try? You can find PAYMENTS! at:

Should you solve the puzzle, or get stumped and need a little help, you can find the solution at www.accountingweb.com/library/soduko_solution.pdf.

Voice of the Editor
