By AccountingWEB Staff

Moss Adams LLP announced that on September 1, 2011, it combined operations with Kansas City-based Warinner, Gesinger & Associates LLC (WGA), an accounting firm focused on small, local telecom companies.

The combination allows Moss Adams, the eleventh largest accounting and consulting firm in the nation, to expand its existing telecom industry service and establish a physical presence in the Midwest, giving telecom industry clients and prospects more convenient access to the expertise of assurance, tax, and consulting professionals.

Moss Adams has served as an advisor to telephone cooperatives and commercial carriers for more than fifty years.

According to a press release issued by Moss Adams, WGA has a deep regulatory consulting focus, and its industry-leading Revenue Management System software will complement the telecom-focused solutions Moss Adams is known for, including its telecom training courses and its nationally recognized audit, transaction, and wealth services.

WGA principals, Bill Warinner and Jarret Rea, will join Moss Adams as partners; Andrew Denzer will join as a director; and WGA's client service staff and employees also will join the Moss Adams team.

Warinner said WGA believes the combination will help WGA clients further strengthen their financial operations.

"This is a challenging time for the telecom industry, and we're excited to deepen our telecom practice," Warinner said in a written statement. "Moss Adams provides a full spectrum of telecom and value-added services that our clients will enjoy."

Officials at Moss Adams say the combination proves the firm's commitment to strengthening its telecom offerings and to expanding the Moss Adams team.

Rick Betts, chair of the Moss Adams telecom practice, said Moss Adams' presence in the Midwest means its clients will have "more resources at their fingertips."

Nationwide, Moss Adams and its affiliates provide insight and expertise in assurance, tax, consulting, transaction, and wealth services to organizations with local, regional, national, and global needs. Moss Adams has a staff over more than 1,700 employees, including more than 220 partners.

The firm serves public, private, and not-for-profit enterprises across the nation through specialized industry and service teams.
