New Web site provides insights into financial planning for retirement decisions

The New York Life Center for Retirement Income at The American College recently unveiled a new Web site designed to help financial service professionals better understand the complex retirement decisions facing consumers. The Web site offers an educational forum featuring exclusive interviews with top industry professionals discussing the latest and most innovative retirement concepts and strategies.

The Center for Retirement Income was established in 2007. It is made possible through a generous donation to The American College by New York Life Insurance Company. In addition to providing an online source of information, New York Life’s donation helps support the creation of an annual retirement guide.

The Center’s Web site presents advice from leading financial figures to assist advisors in providing their clients with efficient and effective ways to plan for their future. The site features individual sections devoted to the Center’s mission statement, a site tutorial, videos, companion books, introductions to the members of the Advisory Board, donation opportunities, and a contact page.

“The new Web site is a useful tool for any financial planner,” said Kenn B. Tacchino, JD, Director of the New York Life Center for Retirement Income. “Retirement planners have an enormous obligation, especially now, with people of all ages facing significant losses in their retirement portfolios. The Center for Retirement Income is a valuable resource, and the accessibility of its information is an asset to any financial planner.”

“Since its inception in 2007, the New York Life Center for Retirement Income has expanded the boundaries of knowledge. It could not have been implemented at a more crucial time,” said Larry Barton, Ph.D., President and CEO of The American College. “Millions of Baby Boomers approaching retirement are being forced to continue to work because they are still trying to pay down debt at a time when their savings have been decimated by the recent financial crisis. Through the New York Life Center for Retirement Income at The American College, professionals are receiving the timely knowledge and skills they need to help clients achieve financial security. The new Web site is a testament to the value of reliable information in an easily obtainable format.”
