Web-based Payroll and Accounting is a Match Made in Heaven

The accounting professional can play a key role to the business marketplace by evaluating and recommending any one of a number of companies emerging as headliners in the online payroll processing medium, and passing along those recommendations to their clients or employers.

Outsourcing payroll to the CPA is not new, but going online to process payroll is. As e-business solutions continue to populate the environment, working over the Web could provide the next logical step to automating a company's books.

Some of the more popular services include ADP's EasyPayNet and Payroll Online. Web-based accounting programs, too, are starting to emerge and assist the payroll function, including NetLedger and the venerable QuickBooks.

Pay special attention to cost and how well you think your clients can adapt to this new way of processing.
