2 New Low-Cost, High-End Linux Accounting Solutions

The availability of a single user and a two-user package of Appgen MyBooks Professional accounting and finance software was announced today by InsynQ, Inc. The low-cost entry-level packages run on the Linux-based Linspire operating system using click and run (CNR) technology.

MyBooks Professional is a double-entry, fully audited accounting system. It conforms to GAAP standards and is modifiable and scalable.

“MyBooks Professional for Linspire is a commercial application for the Linux desktop that meets demand in the business market for low-cost computing alternatives. This offering helps Appgen Business Software further address the Linux market with an entry-level accounting solution with the option for easy customization and scalability through Appgen’s 4GL Development System and offered by Appgen developer partners worldwide,” Joanie Moran, Executive Vice President of InsynQ, said in a written statement. Selected Appgen software assets were recently acquired by InsynQ.

“We’re delighted that InsynQ chose to debut the single- and double-user versions of teir impressive MyBooks Professional software on Linspire operating System. SMB and home business users alike will benefit from having an affordable, complete accounting and finance solution available for desktop Linux,” Kevin La Rue, Linspire’s President of Marketing adds.

The Linspire offering of MyBooks Professional, the award-winning small business accounting package exemplifies Appgen’s native support (since 1997) of the Linux desktop. MY Books Professional also has a Linux server and Linux client application as well as an OBDC server for additional data access and reporting. Appgen’s MyBooks Professional and its other products, Custom Suite, and Executive Dashboard, run on various Linux distributions, as well as Windows and Mac OS. The Appgen 4GL Development System has been designed to run in a variety of Unix/Linux environments.
