1.1 In these terms and conditions, "we" and "us" means Sift Media US, which is a trading name of Sift Media US, Inc. (SM) an Indiana Corporation.
1.2 Sift Media US, Inc. (SM) maintains a site on the Internet located at www.accountingweb.com , (the AW Site), that allows users and members to search and access articles, gather information, participate in community forums, and utilize online communications.
2. Web Site Access
2.1 AccountingWEB is a commercial service, and offers varied levels of access to its site based upon the status of the user (i.e., visitor, registered member, profiled member, or any other level of membership to be identified.) All memberships are free as a subsidized courtesy by advertisers on The Site. Where payment is required we will explicitly say so.
2.2 Information on and accessibility to the AW Site are subject to change without notice.
3. User Name and Password
3.1 Upon registering with us, you are issued a user name and password, which must be used in order to access certain restricted parts of the Web site. The user name and password are personal to you and are not transferable.
3.2 Your user name and password are the methods used by us to identify you and are very important. 4. Agreement to Receipt of E-Mail
4.1 Upon registration for the AW service, you agree to receive our standard free membership package of e-mails, which consists of a weekly news wrap up, a weekly resource guide, and occasional Vendor product e-mails which will be sent via e-mail from AccountingWEB.
6. Refund Policy - Electronic Downloadable Documents
6.1 AccountingWEB offers a fee-based downloadable document library for the convenience of our members. Electronic documents purchased through AccountingWEB's document library are by nature deemed immediately delivered and non-returnable, or refundable.
6.2 Any dispute related to purchases of electronic documents may only be resolved by the issuance of credit in the full amount to be applied towards other purchases to be made on the AccountingWEB Web site. Requests for credit must be made in writing to email@example.com and received within 5 business days of document purchase. Where a credit is issued, purchasers will have to affirm in writing that they have destroyed the original document and have not saved the document in any file format or in any electronic or print media. This is subject to all vendor copyright laws.
6.3 No refunds of purchases will be offered under any circumstances, unless there is evidence of a failure in the technology relating to the credit card payment system. It remains the sole discretion of Sift Media US, Inc. to determine if the failure warrants a refund.
6.4 Any abuses of this policy as determined at the sole discretion of Sift Media US, Inc. may lead to a denial of credit or complete termination of access to this service.
7. Refund Policy - Other Vendors
7.1 Occasionally, following links on AccountingWEB may lead you, the member, out of our site and into another company's Web site. Sift Media US, Inc. has no control over, nor any responsibility for, refund or privacy policies of any other organization. For your own protection, please be sure to review the refund policy of any third party site before purchasing or ordering anything online.

Voice of the Editor
Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know!
