The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) this week unveiled a new dedicated Web site www.bvfls.aicpa.org for its members who specialize in Business Valuation (BV) and Forensic & Litigation Services (FLS).
“Our goal is to provide an online home for CPAs in the BV/FLS community – an area where they can find resources, tools and professional guidance as well as network with members who share their interest and expertise in Business Valuation and Forensic & Litigation Services,” said Anthony Pugliese, Vice President, Business Reporting and Member Specialization for the AICPA. “Our intention is that this new online community will be another resource to support our members in better serving their clients or employers.”
The information on the BV/FLS community Web site is conveniently organized around a home page and five core areas – Resources, Community, Events, Membership and Products. The site is designed for any CPA who provides services in business valuation, fraud investigation, forensic accounting, family law, economic damages, litigation services and other related areas such as estate planning. As an added benefit, members of the AICPA BV/FLS Membership Section as well as holders of the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) specialty credential can access premier technical and practice management content and obtain discounts on AICPA Conferences, publications and practice aids.
“This milestone is an important accomplishment for our community and is the result of a tremendous amount of collective effort,” said Thomas Hilton, CPA/ABV, 2003-2004 Chair of the AICPA BV Committee. “I’m excited because this is only the first stage. New tools and resources will be added regularly in order to keep the content fresh and relevant for our members.”
Also earlier this week, the AICPA announced the formation of a Governmental Audit Quality Center.
