Accounting application service provider NetLedger has formed an alliance with payroll company Automatic Data Processing (ADP) to offer an integrated "one-stop" payroll and accounting service on the Web.

EasyPayNet is available to customers of both companies and lets them automatically update their accounting records as their payroll is processed. Users can map employee and bank account data, earnings and deductions codes from EasyPayNet to their NetLedger chart of accounts, and automatically generate accounting entries from payroll runs, from a Web-browser client.

It may seem odd for a relatively new start-up to align itself with a giant of the payroll world, but NetLedger president Bill Mirbach said, "Sharing information seamlessly between applications is what the ASP model is all about."
