Is security an issue with Microsoft? You have to wonder. On the heels of two other security glitches with Microsoft software products, its Hotmail servers were taken down yesterday when it was discovered that several web sites maliciously used a security hole in Microsoft software.

These web sites allowed anyone to access any Hotmail account by simply typing in an account name. No password was required to read, send or delete mail from an account.

How did Microsoft learn that its millions of free email service users were vulnerable? Apparently, the European press reported the news since many of the sites were traced to Europe.

So what's the fix? Microsoft had the hole patched by late morning and promises future incidents won't happen.

You have to wonder. Click on "Add Comments" below and tell us what you think!
