Tax filing giant H&R Block just can't get a break.
This week--when electronic filing will be at an all-time peak--the H&R Block Web site, which has catered in the past few months to thousands of electronic tax filers, accidentally went down for two horus during routine maintenance.
Two hours doesn't seem like a long time to the average person, but if you are trying to file taxes and cannot access the site, it seems like an eternity.
Naysayers are commenting that this is evidence of the tremendous power of Internet in allowing the filing capability online, hence overload ... while H&R Block sources actually reveal that the site went down due to human error.
Filers on the site were greeted with a message that said the site was temporarily down due to the increased service volume.
