The release of the eBay Accounting Assistant helps eBay sellers make better, more informed decisions. Developed using the QuickBooks® Software Development Kit, Accounting Assistant automatically downloads a seller’s eBay and PayPal transaction information into QuickBooks, allowing them to track their business financials and make better business decisions with greater ease. PayPal is an eBay company.
According to Intuit, 80% of all small businesses use QuickBooks. Accounting Assistant allows the approximately 430,000 sellers running full or part-time businesses on eBay to import their sales and fee information directly into QuickBooks and get an accurate snapshot of their profits and losses. Users can also create basic reports, graphs, and charts.
Transaction accounting is more difficult without this application. Now that the Accounting Assistant is available, transactions don’t have to be manually entered into QuickBooks or batched transactions lumped together for tracking as a single line item. Batched transactions tracking mistakes can be eliminated and the extra time spent entering individual transactions can be spent more productively.
Accounting Assistant allows users to automatically download transaction and payment data directly from both eBay and Paypal. Being able to view transaction sales and expenses gives sellers a more complete picture while printing reports helps pinpoint areas of additional interest. The need to manually enter and lump multiple transactions into single entries is eliminated reducing the risk of financial inaccuracies.
“Running a small business is an exciting, but tough challenge. The businesses that succeed are the ones who stay on top of their finances,” said Brian Dennehy, vice president of marketing for Intuit’s QuickBooks. “eBay’s Accounting Assistant provides thousands of eBay sellers a quick and easy path to QuickBooks so they can track where money is coming from and where it is going–one of the most important steps businesses can take to ensure they are successful.”
The eBay Accounting Assistant is free to eBay Store and Selling Manager subscribers. It is available for download. Users can expect seamless integration with QuickBooks Simple Start, Pro, Premier, and Enterprise Editions 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005. The application also works with the QuckBooks Online Edition.
According to the Intuit web site, the application is also available with the eBay Developer’s Program. Accounting Assistant also provides Windows, Java, or Open Source developers with software development tools, educational resources, and marketing opportunities.
