Crowe Chizek and Company LLC is announcing the launch of MyColts.net, the first free social networking site for Indianapolis Colts fans. As fans celebrate the Colts' Super Bowl win, they can now interact with other Colts fans from around the world as they create their own personal profile pages, share blogs, post photos, link to friends and even form groups in their hometowns. The Indianapolis Colts are one of the first NFL teams to offer a social networking site for its fans.
"This social network site is different than a team or a league site in that it is about the fan and not the sport," said Pat Coyle, executive director of digital business for the Indianapolis Colts. "We are thrilled to offer such an exciting place for Colts fans to come together, make friends and talk about what really matters to them."
With the expertise of Crowe Chizek's Microsoft Technology Group, the Colts developed MyColts.net in an effort to provide a more compelling Web experience for fans. Crowe rebuilt http://www.colts.com on a solid Microsoft platform that now enables the Colts to expand many of its Web offerings and has given the team much more room to grow its online presence.
"MyColts.net is more than just a basic networking site," said Mark Strawmyer, executive with Crowe Chizek. "We have taken concepts from other networking sites and added on to them to enhance the Colts site and enable the team to provide an exceptional Web experience for fans."
Unlike any other site, MyColts.net uses a reward point system called "Colts Cred," which rewards fans for using the site and highlights the top users. Top users will also see their blogs, profiles and reviews pushed to the top of the rankings where they are highly visible to all MyColts.net users.
MyColts.net also features:
a large photo gallery space for users;
user-friendly pages for fans to blog and build personal profiles;
easy options to search for friends and fellow Colts fans;
user control over content he or she posts -- groups, blogs and personal profiles can be public or private; and
interactive calendars where users can post their own events or search for events based on dates, groups or geographic location.
Before its launch, nearly 10,000 fans were already pre-registered for MyColts.net. According to a recent Harris Interactive Poll, the Colts are the third favorite NFL team in the country among U.S. fans who follow football.
