Keith Mueller, a twenty-seven-year managing partner of Accenture plc, a global organization that provides management consulting, technology, and outsourcing services, was named the CEO of BookKeeping Express after serving on the board of the franchise company since 2010.
Credited with helping to build the BookKeeping Express Team Center as a board member, Mueller's objectives are to bring cutting-edge modernization to business bookkeeping and to provide further value to the brand's clients by better integrating people, processes, and technology. Mueller, who has been in retirement since 2009, said he was motivated to join BookKeeping Express to better enable entrepreneurs to work on their business rather than in their business.
Greg S. Jones, who held the CEO position, will continue on as the chairman of the board along with being active with the BookKeeping Express Sales channels. Founded in 1984, BookKeeping Express is the first and only franchise to take an entrepreneurial approach to business bookkeeping.
The Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA-Canada) is proud to recognize four students in the CGA program and eleven newly certified CGAs for outstanding academic achievement in 2012-2013. Each year, the association recognizes exceptional academic performance by awarding the CGA-Canada Awards of Excellence, the Top Ten Recognition Awards, the ENCON Group Inc. Insurance Public Practice Award, and the Porter Hétu International Award.
Awards of Excellence are presented to the highest academic achievers in each level of the CGA program. This year's recipients are:

W. Michael Hsu, CPA, CITP, founder and CEO of DeepSky, was named to the 2013 Empact Showcase by Empact, an organization focusing on creating cultures of entrepreneurship in communities around the world. Now in its third year, the Empact Showcase recognized Hsu and DeepSky as being among the United States' "Best Companies Started & Run by Young Entrepreneurs."
The Empact Showcase is a compilation of companies in the United States started by entrepreneurs who are age thirty-five and under, and whose annual revenues or operating budgets are more than $100,000. In 2012, the companies comprising the Empact Showcase contributed more than 8,500 jobs to the economy and controlled over $1.3 billion in revenue.
Founders in the Empact Showcase will be recognized for their achievements at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City in October. The host of the 2013 Empact Showcase is the United Nations Foundation.
In early 2013, entrepreneurs meeting the minimum criteria from across the country were invited by Empact to apply for the Empact Showcase. Applications were then reviewed by the 2013 Empact Academy who are among the United States' leading entrepreneurs, including Kay Koplovitz, founder, USA Network and SyFy Channel and chairman, Springboard Enterprises; Tony Hsieh, CEO, Zappos; and Mike Delazzer, founder, RedBox.
