Taxpayers may submit their most amusing accountant interaction, or most comical post office tax-return run, through April 18. Stand-up performances, for those preferring to perform their anecdote rather than write it, will be held April 17. The winner will receive a $415 gift certificate to The Laugh Factory in celebration of the conclusion of tax day on April 15. The contest is being held to promote New York City accountants and bring out their inner Bob Newhart comedic side.
“With all the frustration tax season brings, there must be some humorous anecdote to bring light to the aggravating situation,” Masada said.
