Intuit Boasts Increase in TurboTax Sales

Despite an increase in prices this year, Intuit Inc. announced an eight percent increase in unit sales of its TurboTax tax software program for the 2000 tax season. According to Steve Bennett, president and chief Executive of Intuit Inc., the company's desktop retail revenue during tax season rose more than 27 percent.

In addition, Intuit revenue from online tax preparation at the TurboTax Internet site rose more than 130 percent over last year.

More than 75 percent of the 6.6 million tax returns that were prepared on home computers this year were prepared using TurboTax programs.
