Beta Alpha Psi & AICPA join forces to inspire greatness in students

Beta Alpha Psi, the honorary organization for financial information students and professionals, and the AICPA are teaming up again this year to offer a sponsorship program designed to inspire greatness in future accounting professionals. An advisory board will select up to three winners and each will receive a cash scholarship of $5,000 and a Medal of Inspiration Award.

Chattanooga-based Joseph Decosimo and Company announces scholarship program

Two scholarships bearing the Decosimo name were recently established in the College of Business at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) to reward outstanding accounting students. These student scholarship awards are among the largest provided in the College of Business.The children of Rachel and Joe Decosimo established the Decosimo Family Scholarship and principals at Joseph Decosimo and Company, PLLC, funded Decosimo & Company Awards in Accounting Excellence.

2009 Accounting Student Scholarship will honor three students

AccountingWEB, the Web site dedicated to providing news and resources for members of the accounting profession, is pleased to announce the creation of a new scholarship that is offered to undergraduate accounting majors throughout the country. Three scholarships will be awarded to students who are declared accounting majors based on the submission of an essay and the subsequent judging thereof. Funding is provided by AccountingWEB with the goal of encouraging accounting as a major and a career choice.

Deloitte announces winners in National Tax Case Study competition

After facing nearly 60 interscholastic teams in the regional events and 12 teams in the national rounds of the Deloitte Tax Case Study competition, two teams have been announced as winners in this annual event. At the national finals, Brigham Young University earned top honors in the Graduate Division and the College of William and Mary won in the Undergraduate Division.

Illinois CPA Society offers scholarships to accounting students

Faced with rising costs and fewer funding sources, college students who are pursuing a degree in accounting and planning to become Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) can apply to the Illinois CPA Society for scholarships of up to $4,000 to cover tuition, books and fees.
