In a model of academic and professional cooperation, CPE Link and AccountingWEB have agreed to provide accounting students at California State University, San Bernardino, access to webcasts developed by and for practicing CPAs.

AccountingWEB is pleased to announce the 2011 AccountingWEB Accounting Student Scholarship Program, offered to accounting majors throughout North America.

Since graduating college in the past year, the three students who won $500 scholarships from AccountingWEB in 2009 are finding their niche in the accounting profession. Jason Bramwell reports.

The National Association of Enrolled Agents has announced a new level of membership that was developed for students and instructors of accredited colleges and professional schools.

This year marked another period of increased enrollment in the Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession program, a NYSSCPA initiative that recruits minority high school juniors from public and private schools in New York to the CPA profession.

Seven Ohio high school students recently were awarded $500 scholarships at the Accounting Careers Awareness Program.

Through the life of the AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students, the American Institute of CPAs has sought to increase the number of accounting graduates and licensed CPAs from diverse ethnic backgrounds.

"The payoff for grasping new tax breaks can be substantial on the 2009 version of Form 1040," said Bob D. Scharin, senior tax analyst for the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters.
