AAM calls for Rookie of the Year nominees

Do you know an outstanding marketing professional who's new to the industry? Is this the type who pushes up the sleeves and gets down in the trenches? Have this person's achievements caused heads to turn? If so, he or she could be AAM's next Rookie of the Year! As AAM continues to grow and recognize achievements of tenured marketers, the Board of Directors did not want to overlook the future leaders of the industry. The Rookie of the Year was created in 2005. AAM holds an open call for nominations that are reviewed by the AAM Hall of Fame members.

Oh, sure, some things haven't changed, such as few CPAs in the mix. These conferences are outstanding opportunities for a firm's managing partner to accompany the marketing director they are sending. Hopefully, someday that will be the norm rather than the exception.Just as marketing, business development, and public relations have grown within our industry, AAM has grown too.

Leisa Gill, director of marketing at Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain, PC in Brentwood, TN, and Tracy Crevar Warren, president of The Crevar Group LLC in Jamestown, NC, were inducted into the Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM) Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame Award honors an individual's dedication to and promotion of the accounting marketing profession and the accounting industry as a whole.Gill was named Marketer of the Year in 2004 by CPA Marketing Report, a CCH Publication, and is a past-president of AAM.

Rene Stranghoner, director of practice growth at Weaver and Tidwell, LLP in Fort Worth, Texas, has been named the 2008 Marketer of the Year. Stranghoner was first nominated by her peers and was later selected by a panel of judges, themselves leaders in professional services marketing, for the top honor."My personal mission as a marketer is to help the firm understand, embrace, and live a marketing culture," said Stranghoner.
