Yes, It COULD Happen to You: Keeping Data Secure

I woke up Christmas morning to find that one of my websites had been hacked! What a present. In my case the site was purely a content site. I couldn't help but think how much worse it would have been, had the site contained sensitive information....

Publisher's Note

Last week's "Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Universities" list generated some terrific comments from those of you who attended the list of ten universities that we published (courtesy of Food Management Magazine). Those who wrote to me have dazzling AccountingWEB t-shirts coming soon.

Kate Morgan-Chu, a Northwestern University (#1 on the list) graduate, now resides in Oakland, California. Although she's not a vegetarian, Kate did tell me that the Northwestern salad bar was incredible. Northwestern apparently also serves fantastic warm chocolate chip cookies.

Stanford was not on the top ten list. Kate's husband graduated from Stanford, where he witnessed a rather curious site one day while walking to class. A truck was unloading boxes into the student cafeteria; the boxes were labeled "Grade-C Beef - Fit for Human Consumption."

It's hard to beat a good salad bar.....
