The name of today's exercise refers not to a herd of small cattle chasing weary accountants down the halls, like a miniature version of the running of the bulls in Pamplona, but to a small workout for the lower part of your legs. This calf workout can be done while sitting at your desk. You can even do this exercise and keep working. What's better than getting billable hours for staying fit at work?!

Calves at work
Exercising your calves provides better support for the upper body. This exercise works on strengthening your calves, which provides greater endurance for many forms of exercise as well as normal day-to-day walking around. If you like, you can do this exercise with ankle weights.
  1. Sit at the edge of your chair and straighten your back. Place your feet flat on the floor.
  2. Stretch your left leg out straight in front of you.
  3. Hold for five seconds.
  4. Bend your leg and bring your left foot under your chair.
  5. Try to touch the bottom side of your chair with your left ankle.
