VAT and charities
My client (a fully taxable business) "adopts" a charity each year. It then hosts various events such as golf days or meals where participants are required to make a minimum donation to the chosen charity.
Does this mean my client or the charity needs to account for VAT on the minimum amount or can it be treated as a pure donation?
Thanks
