PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has retained its Top 10 position on the annual "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" list, published by Working Mother magazine, ranking sixth in the nation. All of the Big Five firms are represented on the list of 100, which ranks firms according to those that are determined to be best for recognizing the value and needs of working families.
The judges consider the following categories when ranking the firms:
- Percentage of women in the workforce
- Child care support
- Leave for new parents
- Work/life balance
- Advancement of Women
Companies that apply to be included on the "100 Best" list are judged based on the types of benefits offered, how widely available those benefits are, and the usage rates. In particular, judges this year concentrated on companies that provide flex time working schedules, advancement for women, and equitable distribution of benefits.
Companies that apply for inclusion on the list but do not make the cut get feedback indicating how they might improve their working conditions for working mothers.
