There's working from home, and then there's working from home. I made a brief attempt at being a home worker many years ago when I was still in public accounting. At that time, the effort involved with lugging a very heavy "laptop," hauling a giant briefcase of file folders, and then dealing with myriad problems associated with connecting to the firm's network, soured me to the whole experience. It was so much easier to just go into the office.
Times have changed and we live in a virtual world. We'll explore the concept of home (and carry-it-with-you) offices more in weeks to come. For now, we have an introductory piece [1] that addresses some of the basic work-from-home issues, and we welcome your shared experiences.
