The search is on for the South's funniest accountant

In the world of stand-up comedy we all know the greats - Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and....Steven Fisher, an accountant at one of the Big Four? Okay, the latter may be a stretch, but Accountants One is proving accountants are funnier than you think with their 2008 Search for the South's Funniest Accountant. Kicking off its fourth year, Accountants One hopes this year will be the most successful. The accountants by day, comedians by night will take the stage November 6th at the CW Midtown's Center Stage (formerly Earthlink Live) in Atlanta. Proceeds benefit Junior Achievement of Georgia, which partners with businesses and educators to bring the real world to students.

"This event has really changed the way people look at accountants – they're no longer thought of as humorless number crunchers," said Dan Erling, Vice President of Accountants One. "Each year we're blown away by how much talent and skill these accountants possess. This year is no different."

Judges narrowed stand-up comedy hopefuls to 10 at the September 9th auditions. The group will participate in a "comedy boot camp" on October 4th to help further hone their routines. The best performer wins an all-expense paid trip for two to Las Vegas. Tickets to the annual fundraiser are $25 and are available online [1].
