Thomson Reuters will conduct two-day Payroll Summits, offering first-hand insight on how accounting firms can profit by offering payroll processing services to their clients.
The forums are designed for firms considering offering in-house payroll processing services or seeking to improve their existing payroll business. They will help attendees examine where they are with payroll today and develop concrete plans to foster growth and profitability.
Modeled after Thomson Reuters' popular Partner Summit events, the Payroll Summits focus on how to capitalize on payroll services opportunities by leveraging technology, proven best practices, and strategic planning.
Payroll Summit dates and locations:
- September 26-27, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Hyatt Regency Bonaventure
- October 1-2, St. Louis, Missouri. Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch
The Summit will be presented by Thomson Reuters' senior technical consultant, Samantha Mansfield, along with practitioner and payroll expert, Sean Manning, CPA, managing partner of Manning and Company, P.C. and the founder of Payroll Vault.
Attendees will walk away with a customized, actionable plan for developing a payroll business as part of their firm, including sales and marketing strategies, staffing considerations, and technology essentials.
"Sean Manning's first-hand experience building a payroll services business from the ground up, coupled with our expertise in technology and process innovation, will create a great atmosphere for idea sharing and strategic planning," said Scott Fleszar, vice president, strategic marketing, for the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. "Advances in cloud computing technology, the increasingly complex payroll compliance and regulatory environment, and the inherent client 'stickiness' that comes from delivering payroll services have made it an attractive proposition for more and more firms. It represents a big opportunity for those who are prepared to capitalize."
With just forty seats per city, the summit format offers a small-group environment with a high level of individualized instruction. Fleszar said this format has been extremely popular in the past.
"Our users rely on us to be more than a software vendor," he said. "They have come to expect thought leadership events that help them improve their businesses and better serve their clients. Our partner summits have resonated with customers, and I'm pleased that we're able to build on that success with the new Payroll Summits."
