Commitment to Philanthropy = Employee Loyalty

As the summer months roll around, it is a great time to encourage employees to participate in local community philanthropic activities, like 5k runs, bowl-a-thons, etc. The firm can support these types of charitable activities with volunteer time or financial contributions - or both!

Each year our firm teams up with ADP in the Northern New Jersey area and we host a "Battle of the Business" corporate run. Last year - our fourth - we had more than 600 people, an equal mix of individual runners and business teams. The publicity is great, the proceeds go to a local organization, The Children's Institute, and we get 100% participation from our staff (either running, walking or volunteering to help with set up, traffic control, registration, passing out water, etc.) In the months leading up to the event we talk about the impact of feeling well and following a practical healthy life style. It is win- win.

If you have the chance to host an event, sponsor an event, or just support your staff - this is the right time of year to get involved!
