as a partner in the firm's Business Assurance practice. For more than eleven years, she has served Moore Colson in many areas. As a new firm partner, DiGiacomo works in a leadership role to provide 404 Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and implementation services for firm clients. She is a graduate of the University of Akron, earning a BS in Accounting in 1997 and a BBA in Marketing in 1991.
Jimmy Hawbaker, a new business assurance associate, previously worked as a sales tax, use tax, and compliance auditor with the Georgia Department of Revenue, where he self-governed all aspects of various audits and collaborated with several auditors on many engagements. He also participated in special project engagements for Commissioner Graham, where he assisted with and researched the interpretation of changing tax regulations. Hawbaker is a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a BBA.
Jessica Hutton, a new tax associate, comes to the firm from CBIZ MHM, LLC, where she worked as a staff accountant. While with CBIZ, Hutton was responsible for the preparation of federal and multistate income tax estimates, extensions, and returns for individuals, corporations, S-corporations, partnerships, payroll, fiduciary trusts, and not-for-profits. She is a graduate of Kennesaw State University, with a MAcc in Tax and Baylor University, with a BBA.
Lance Polatty is a new tax associate, joining the Tax Services Practice after serving an internship with Cherry Bekaert & Holland. While working with CBH, he completed individual, C-corporation, S-corporation, and partnership tax returns; constructed balance sheets and income statements; researched new tax regulations; and worked on processing amended tax returns and amended W-2 forms. Polatty is a graduate of the University of Georgia, with a MAcc in Tax and a BBA.
Elysia Gonzalez is a new business assurance associate. Prior to joining Moore Colson, she worked with Oxford Industries, Inc. as an internal auditor, where she audited the company’s compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404, performed walkthroughs, documented design, and tested and analyzed operating effectiveness of internal controls. She is a graduate of Mercer University, Stetson School of Business and Economics with a MBA in Accounting and a BBA in Accounting.
Kelly Hopkins is a business assurance spring intern with Moore Colson. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, Terry College of Business, with a BBA, and she intends to pursue a MAcc degree. For two years, she also attended the University of Mississippi School of Business Administration, Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College.
Chandler Amerson, a spring tax intern with Moore Colson, plans to graduate from Mercer University, Stetson School of Business and Economics with a MAcc degree in May 2012. He currently holds a BBA in Real Estate from the University of Georgia, Terry College of Business.

announced that Michael Hochman, CPA, CCIFP,
has been granted the professional designation of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP). Hochman joined RSSMC in January 2011. He is the partner-in-charge of the New York City office and serves on the Executive Committee. Hochman is largely responsible for building the firm's niche within the construction industry. He has a BS in Accounting from the University of Florida, Fisher School of Accounting.
Juan Rondon, CPA, CCIFP, also has been granted the professional designation of CCIFP. Rondon, who is a manager, has over ten years of experience in public accounting. He specializes in construction and manufacturing and focuses on auditing, accounting, and tax planning. Rondon holds a BS in Accounting from the University at Albany.
Robert A. Modansky, CPA, CFF, has joined the National Editorial Board (NEB) for Trendlines, a publication of PDI Global/Thomson Reuters. PDI Global is part of the tax and accounting business of Thomson Reuters. He is a partner with RSSMC and has actively developed the firm's insolvency practice. Modansky received his BSBA from American University, Washington, DC.
Avery E. Neumark, CPA, JD, LL.M, also has joined the NEB for Trendlines. He is the partner-in-charge of Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation with RSSMC and has over twenty-five years of experience in public accounting and employee benefits consulting. A cum laude graduate of Yeshiva University in 1974, Neumark later received his JD from Brooklyn Law School in 1977 and his LL.M in Taxation from the New York University School of Law in 1980.
Mark Shumaker recently joined Schneider Downs & Co., Inc, one of the top sixty public accounting, tax, and business advisory services firms in the United States, as the marketing manager for the Columbus office. Shumaker will be responsible for the overall marketing functions of the office, including brand management, leadership of industry niches, coordination of seminars and events, and the development of new business proposals and other marketing materials. He received a BS in Marketing and Management from Franklin University and a BA in Fine Arts/Graphic Design from Bowling Green State University.
