Sole practitioner moderator

I spend a good portion of time on LinkedIn, which I discovered in 2006 during a job search. I have seen the site grow as a destination and add features such as Groups.

Earlier this year, a group was started for those of us that are in business for ourselves: CPAs Sole Practitioners.

One of the great benefits from the group is it serves as an online vehicle to bounce ideas and discuss topics affecting sole practitioners and the profession as a whole. I have enjoyed my time so much that I have been named the moderator for the month of November.

To join the LinkedIn group, you must register and be approved (currently by me). All registrations are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, but there are two main conditions for approval:

1. You have to be a licensed CPA.

2. You must be a sole practitioner or work in a small firm (no national, regional or local firm with many professionals).

There are few places for sole practitioners to speak frankly and get feedback. If you are interested, please check out ours LinkedIn group. We have had a number of great discussions.
