A special thank-you toHeidi Brundage, Senior Technical Manager PCPS at the AICPAfor leading me to agreat article by Sheryl Sandberg,Facebook COO. The title of the article is,Don’t Leave Before You Leave.
The issue is the fact that there comes a time in the life of a young, ambitious and successful woman when she starts considering having children. She contemplates how busy she already is and begins to decline opportunities that could lead to a monumental step forward in her career. Almost immediately she begins to fall behind her peers.
Firm leaders, please read the article and contemplate how you may hold-back on giving opportunities to certain females without even realizing it.
Women CPAs and other CPA firm female professionals, follow the link above and read this article. Then keep your foot on the gas pedal until the time actually comes when you need to shift gears.
