Baron to lead Americas unit of Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting business
Jon Baron has been appointed president of the Americas Business Unit within the Workflow & Service Solutions (W&SS) group for the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters.
This new unit includes all North and South America-based businesses providing income tax compliance software solutions for corporate tax departments; as well as tax, accounting, and practice management solutions for accounting and consulting firms.
As part of this re-alignment, Mr. Baron will report to Brian Peccarelli, president of the W&SS business unit. The Americas unit is one of three regional income tax businesses in the newly-created W&SS business unit . The other two business regions are Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA); and Asia and Australia.
Baron joined Thomson Reuters in 1992 as head of the tax compliance technology development department at Thomson Creative Solutions, and has held many leadership positions since, including president and CEO of Creative Solutions, and most recently, president of the Professional Software & Services business of Tax & Accounting from 2005 until 2010, serving accounting firms across the U.S.

Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Baron spent 17 years with CCH, a business of Wolters Kluwer, where he held various executive technology development and operations leadership positions. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Boston University and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Siena College. He is located in Dexter, MI.
