J.H. Cohn’s D’Anna and Gordon accepted into EWNJ
Executive Women of New Jersey recently has announced that Carolyn J. D'Anna, CPA, and Sharon Gordon, CPA, have been accepted as members of the 30-year-old organization.
D'Anna is a partner at J.H. Cohn LLP , one of the 15 largest accounting and consulting firms in the United States and the largest headquartered in New Jersey, according to the firm. In her role as managing director of human resources, D'Anna oversees the firm's entire human resources function, including the staffing process, compensation, budgeting, employee relations, and performance management, for J.H. Cohn's more than 1,000 employees in 11 offices.
Her key accomplishments include the efficient integration of employees from firms J.H. Cohn has combined practices with, and the implementation of a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) system. In addition, she serves as co-director of the J.H. Cohn Professional Women's Program, which addresses women's personal and career objectives with diverse learning and development opportunities.
Prior to assuming her current roles, D'Anna spent 15 years as a member of J.H. Cohn's audit practice, where she specialized in employee benefit plans and served as director of the firm's employee benefit plans practice. Her expertise includes accounting, auditing, and financial management services in such industries as manufacturing, distribution, financial services, and employee benefit companies.
Gordon is a J.H. Cohn partner with more than 15 years of diversified public accounting experience. As a member of both the firm's Real Estate Industry and Construction Industry practices, she works with middle-market companies in these industries with a concentration on accounting, auditing, and tax advisory services. She also has clients in the manufacturing and distribution industries.
Gordon is a member of the Employee Benefits Plan Practice at J.H. Cohn where she provides audit services for the plans of both privately held and publicly traded companies from a wide variety of industries. Specifically, she manages several audits of employee benefit plans that are subject to ERISA, DOL, and SEC reporting requirements. In addition, she is co-director of the J.H. Cohn Professional Women's Program.
Founded in 1980 as New Jersey's premier organization for senior-level women, EWNJ's mission is to promote the advancement of women to the highest levels of business, the professions, and government. EWNJ also assists corporations seeking qualified candidates for board of director positions. Proceeds from the biennial Salute to the Policy Makers awards dinner are used to fund graduate school scholarships. As of this year, more than $1million in scholarships have been awarded to more than 300 deserving women.
