KPMG Chief Calls for Global Awareness

Stephen Butler, chairman of KPMG Interntational, stressed the need for the accounting world to think more broadly in terms of doing business internationally and thinking of invisible borders outside of the United States.
The message was given on before the International Relations Council in Kansas City, MO. Butler received the organization's Distinguished Service Award for International Understanding.
The gala event also marked the organization's 45th anniversary.
Butler cited a number of audiences that must begin to erode the walls, and specifically called upon student and the Generation Xs and Ys of the nation to begin to think more globally.
