Gates: 'English' Remains Internet Language
This observation was made by Gates on Sept. 12 during the three-day Asia Pacific Summit of the World Economic Forum held in Melbourne.
The statement by Gates flies in the face of a report released by Deloitte Touche Tommatsu that predicts the population of China would boast the largest online component within 10 years. Still, despite the influx of Asian users, English will be the preferred language, says Gates.
Other observations made by Gates for the next five years included advancements in wireless technology and portability, enabling users better access and sharing of information.
