AICPA Announces Promotions/Organizational Changes
Arleen Thomas, CPA, vice president, currently of Professional Standards and Services, will now serve as senior vice president of Member Competency and Development. Susan Coffey, CPA, vice president of Audit Quality and Professional Ethics has been promoted to senior vice president, Member Quality and State Regulation. Anthony Pugliese, CPA, vice president of Business Reporting and Member Specialization, is now promoted to senior vice president of Finance and Administration.
In addition, Chuck Landes, director, will now become vice president of Professional Standards and Services. Bea Sanders will now serve as vice president as she continues to head Academic and Career Development. John Toman, who has headed Conferences and Sales, has now been named vice president in that area. Patricia Duane, formerly director of Human Resources, will now serve as vice president of Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness.
Other organizational changes include Clarence Davis, CPA, who has relocated his family to Savannah, Georgia, and will be stepping down as chief operating officer as he works towards his retirement. Alan Anderson, senior vice president of the member and public interest teams, will be joining Franklin Templeton Investments as senior vice president of Global Project Management and Strategy.
In making the announcement, Barry Melancon, CPA, president and CEO of the AICPA, said, “We are grateful for the significant contributions that both Clarence Davis and Alan Anderson have made to the Institute during their tenure, and they will be sorely missed. We are fortunate to have the breadth and talent internally to promote the individuals named above as part of the growth of the AICPA. I am confident that this group will continue to make a significant contribution to the Institute.”
